Research into practice: CLIL in South America

Abstract This paper discusses three relationships between content and language integrated learning (CLIL) research practice in the context of South America. The first relationship focuses on with successful results areas motivation intercultural communicative competence citizenship. second which has yielded mixed to support cognitive development. last suggests what deserve special attention offer further teachers involved CLIL provision. following are addressed: teacher-made materials, gains, L1-L2 (first language, language) curriculum design, inclusion. In conclusion, I assert that America can be invigorated if researchers educators carry out research, preferably collaboration, recognises, maximises improves practice. also suggest community may engage creating models conceptual frameworks respond particularities their settings aim making context-responsive sustainable.
